Straight, unpolished techno with a trademark tension — layers stacked and held until they break, in the sets as much as the records. A maths graduate who found the music in the Amsterdam nightlife of RoXY and Escape, won a Bassic Groove DJ contest, and went on to Dance Valley, Awakenings and ADE on Dave Clarke's night, supporting Jeff Mills and Ben Sims. His Underground Liberation imprint made him a household name; 2013's The Next Genesis is still played, as are his records for Ben Sims' Theory Recordings, by Luke Slater, Dave Clarke and Marcel Dettmann. He keeps his sets off the internet on principle — techno should be felt, and the only place for that is the dancefloor.
