Chicago house and techno veteran from the city's Southside. Ron Maney started DJing in 1986, met Ron Hardy at Trax Records as a teenager, and built his reputation at the Music Box and Power Plant clubs before debuting on Saber Records in 1991. His 1993 'Stomping Grounds' EP for Djax-Up-Beats placed him in the Chicago contingent that shaped that label's funky, rough sound. Recent vinyl on Chiwax.
