American garage and vocal house at its most consistent — a New York label founded in 1992 by Tommy Musto and Silvio Tancredi under Northcott Productions. Its catalogue runs through Jazz-N-Groove, Kerri Chandler, Mousse T., Sandy Rivera and Deep Zone. Defected relaunched it under licence in 2007, and it is putting out records again.
