The first half of a 1998 debut album, spread across two 12-inches so the long pieces get the room they need — five tracks, none of them brief, all worked from the same loose, bluesy drum programming and minimal parts. Tempos sit low and barely shift across the four sides, closer to a slow-burning after-hours stretch than anything peak-time, with 'Only The Beginning' running past eleven minutes and 'First Floor Metaphor' past nine. Peacefrog split the album in two for this vinyl reissue, this being Part 1, on smokey vinyl with an obi strip.
