Four hardware takes on the deeper, soulful end of house, running 123 to 126 across both sides — close enough in tempo that the EP holds as a single stretch rather than four separate ideas. It is the twelfth 12-inch from the Düsseldorf collective, whose brief has been to bridge the jazz, funk and soul foundations of the music with contemporary underground house, and these are cut for Chicago-leaning floors. Frag Maddin works from instinct over arrangement templates, which lands as grooves that settle in and ride rather than build toward a payoff.
