Deep House

The third release on Florence, an untitled-artist 12-inch of stripped deep house. Two cuts — 'Nicolas' and the slower 'Johnny' — warm and unhurried. Spare, groove-led house for the deeper floor.

The second Downtown EP on Kerri Chandler's own self-titled label, reconnecting with the spirit of his Downtown Records era. Four cuts, including In Search Of Mr Ford in two versions and the flat statement of House Is House.

A four-track split on Mostly Records pairing two deep-house veterans. Argentina’s Bs As Deep takes the A-side — “Linear Waves” under his System T alias and the rolling “Love For The House” — while Venice’s Nicola Brusegan handles the flip with the vocal-led “Colour Tea Time Vox” and the stripped...

A 20th-anniversary gold-vinyl 3x12-inch of Delano Smith's 'An Odyssey' on Berlin's Sushitech. One of the original Detroit DJs, schooled under Ken Collier and steeped in soul and disco, Smith works warm, timeless deep house across eleven cuts — from 'Survival' to 'Midnight Hours' and the title track 'Odyssey'. Classic, soulful,...

'Tough Times' lays spacey chords over a rolling beat and analogue bassline, 'Shuffle And Swing' joins late-nineties dubs to bouncy New Jersey garage, and 'Bossa' is dubby and sub-heavy...

Mike Huckaby’s first LP gathers in-demand cuts from his Detroit catalogue, remastered and cut louder across two records. ‘The Jazz Republic’ appears three ways: the original, the ‘Groove Box’ version and the bongo-laden ‘Mathematics From The Jazz Republic’. Around them sit ‘Dance’, ‘The Rowdy Swing’ and the sax-laced disco-house of...

Deejazzid returns to Runde Ecken with the 'Savoy EP', six cuts of jazzy, soulful deep house. The producer keeps it warm and funky from 'Deep Control' through 'Jazztrain' and 'Deeptroit'. Soulful, jazz-laced house built for the long set.
