The sixth release on Cinthie’s own 803 Crystal Grooves brings four tracks with no piano in sight. ‘Grooves’ runs vintage vocal snippets over a weighty acid bassline and swung drums, and ‘Boxer’ goes deep and dubby with spiralling echoes. On the flip, ‘Hands Up’ moves into classic house with dreamy keys and strings, and ‘She Wants It’ closes on sweeping synths, soulful vocal samples and a long bass drone.
